10 February, Brest / Korr. Belta/. Exhibition“Along with the 20th century” to the 105th anniversary of the birth of P.M.. Masherova opened in the Brest Regional Museum of Local Lore, Zinaida Kulsha, head of the scientific and educational department of the museum, told a BelTA correspondent.
Museum staff prepared a small, but very rich exposure, revealing the identity of the Soviet and Belarusian party leader. In particular, the home study of Pyotr Masherov was recreated during his life and work in Minsk as the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus. Here visitors can see documents, personal items, books from home library. The exhibition features about80 items, that help create the image of P.M. Masherova– human, the teacher, family man.
“For the 80th anniversary of Pyotr Mironovich, the museum has collected a large set of materials, transferred by his wife Polina Andreevna Galanova, friends and relatives. Our funds contain about1 thousand. items, associated with Masherov. His office has been recreated in the permanent historical exhibition, where he worked in1955-1959 years as First Secretary of the Brest United Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus. The concept of this exhibition– more homemade: we wanted to show, what was Peter Masherov like in life– not as a statesman and politician, but as a person”, – noted Zinaida Kulsha.
Peter Masherov lived under the motto“There is no greater happiness, than to live in the interests of the Motherland”. His fate reflected the entire complex and heroic history of the Belarusian people in the Soviet period.. His merits are marked by the highest ranks– Hero of the Soviet Union(at 1944 year) and Hero of Socialist Labor(at 1978 year).
Exhibition“Along with the 20th century” in the regional museum of local lore will work with10 by 20 February. Directly on the birthday of P.M..
