9 February, Minsk / Corr.. Belta/. Dostoevsky family, descendants of the Russian classic Fyodor Dostoevsky, came to Belarus, BelTA correspondent reports.

Great-great-grandson of the writer Alexei Dostoevsky came to our country, his wife Natalia and their children Anna, Maria, Vera and Fedor. The first point of the visit was the National Library of Belarus. “We are pleased to meet the descendants of Fyodor Mikhailovich on our hospitable Belarusian land. We want, so that our esteemed guests with such an eminent surname stay in our country as long as possible”, – said Minister of Culture Anatoly Markevich at a meeting with the Dostoevskys.

Descendants of the classic were given a tour of the National Library, showed book museum. The next point of the visit of the Dostoevskys was the State Museum of the History of Belarusian Literature. And in the evening they are invited to the premiere of the play“Idiot” at the National Academic Drama Theater named after M. Gorky.

Dostoevsky's visit to Belarus will not be limited to Minsk, tomorrow they will go to the agricultural town of Dostoevo, Ivanovsky district, Brest region. It is there that the Dostoevsky family originates.. “Roots from there, our, Belarusian roots. Therefore, the guests expressed a desire to go home, stay there, chat with the guys, schoolchildren, residents. Tomorrow we will make a tour to the Brest region, and then we'll meet here, In Minsk, at the Academy of Music, – noted Anatoly Markevich. – We know, that Natalya Konstantinovna, like the children in this wonderful family, musician, therefore, each of the listeners will receive great pleasure from those works, which will sound within the walls of the institution”.

Besides, The Dostoevsky family will visit the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War on Saturday and will go on a tour of the capital.-0-
