1 February, Minsk / Corr.. Belta/. What exposition was prepared for the 100th anniversary of the birth of the People's Artist of Belarus Leonid Shchemelev at the City Art Gallery of L.. Shchemeleva, Anna Yasyuk, head of the gallery, told a press conference, BelTA correspondent reports.
“We have more than one anniversary this year., also performed20 years of Shchemelev Gallery. This is also very iconic., big date. We have been actively preparing, did repairs, made an exposure. And we are ready to welcome visitors”, – said Anna Yasiuk.
“Exhibition exposition“Leonid Shchemelev– era mirror” built like this, so that each viewer gradually learns about this great man and artist by topic, – continued the head. – And in our gallery for the first time collected150 works by Leonid Dmitrievich, this and picturesque, and graphic works. The entire gallery is now used for this exhibition”.
During9 Gallery halls present works on various topics. “First, the most important topic, – these are portraits of close and dear people of Leonid Dmitrievich. He painted a lot of portraits, and, probably, his main muses in his work were his wife and daughter. The hall presents portraits of the People's Artist of Belarus Vitaly Konstantinovich Tsvirko– teacher Leonid Dmitrievich. The hall turned out to be very warm and sincere.”, – noted Anna Yasyuk.
The artist's workshop was also recreated in the gallery. “This is also a very interesting room., where personal belongings of Leonid Dmitrievich are collected. This is his favorite armchair from the workshop., his easel, machine, for which he worked, hat, coat, brushes, palette, touched by Leonid Dmitrievich”, – she said.
The exposition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the artist’s birth is also decorated with his last unfinished painting“Summer”. “She also really fit into the workshop, as if Leonid Dmitrievich had just laid down his brushes and left this hall”, – noticed the gallery manager.
The theme of war was also reflected in the exposition.. “Leonid Dmitrievich was at war, and this is also a big segment of his life, very serious and important topic. Collected landscapes, urban, rural scenery. Leonid Dmitrievich was born in Vitebsk, most of his life he lived in Minsk and was a city man, but he loved his country very much, his Belarus, – Anna Yasyuk continued. – This is reflected in the art, every story is passed through the soul. As Leonid Dmitrievich himself said, These are diary pictures.. This is not just a photographic transmission, everything is meaningful and passed through the heart”.
Head of the City Art Gallery of L.D.. Schemeleva also spoke about an interesting moment in the life of the artist: “He is in painting, and in pencil graphics, felt-tip pens until the last days of his life made sketches. He always, 24/7, was at work. And when friends came to visit him, close people in the workshop, he always made some sketches and sketches for future works in a notebook”.
Anna Yasyuk noted, that the gallery will host very large and serious exhibitions throughout the year. “This is an exhibition of students of Leonid Dmitrievich, exhibition from the family collection, This is an exhibition of front-line artists to9 May, exhibition of students of the children's art school №3, which will be named after Shchemelev, and this is also a very important step”, – she added.-0
