The exhibition showcases a bright, characteristic author's painting. The experiments carried out in watercolor by the master introduce him to his early work and artistic style during the search period., the formation of their style and manner. Small-format paintings created during the last years of his life are also presented., filled with thoughts, tense, restrained, emotional. The exhibition provides a unique opportunity to look into the artist's studio, feel the atmosphere of work, choice, learning, experiment, reflections, creative fun, longing and search. A significant part of the works has never been exhibited until now. Presented at the exhibition and two paintings, donated by the author to the library collection in2010 year: “Abandoned boats” (2006) and“Encounter with a unicorn” (2005). The works are impressive metaphorical, poetry, harmonious composition, color richness. The colorful world of the artist stands out with a bright individual style, monumentality, decorative.

Exhibition title– “Life is like the time of a plucked rose” – line from the sonnet of Fyodor Yastreb, opening the poetic collection of the same name-piggy bank of the master. About a thousand sonnets are collected in the piggy banks presented at the exhibition.“The promise of dreams”, “Rainbow trail”, “Life is like the time of a plucked rose”, “Taurus”, “Supplication of fire and wind”.

Magazines are also exhibited., materials of scientific conferences, author's art history articles and articles about the artist's life, his work and creativity, albums, exhibition and project catalogs. Among them– catalog“I International Landscape Festival”, won the National Award“book art” (2008) in the nomination “Publishing debut”.

Gallerist, teacher, art historian Fyodor Yastreb(1953-2014) was the author and curator of many exhibitions and dozens of large-scale exhibition projects: international festival of digital art Terra Nova, international biennale of contemporary painting Colorfest, international exhibition of graphics“Art line”. Fyodor Yastreb was a member of the Belarusian Union of Artists, Chairman of the International Guild of Painters, Associate Professor of the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts, as well as the founder and first head of the department of gallery and exhibition activities of the National Library.-0-
